London’s Hackney Council has kicked off the hunt for a design and build contractor to deliver 341 new homes across its De Beauvoir Estate regeneration scheme.
The De Beauvoir New Homes Project aims to deliver the extra homes alongside commercial space and sweeping public realm upgrades. Around 45% of the new homes will be affordable, including around 90 for social rent.
Targeting 10 infill plots within the existing estate, the scheme will transform underused land around the 1960s-built towers, which currently house 870 flats.
The council is using a two-stage competitive flexible procedure to select a contractor.
Five bidders will be shortlisted for a pre-construction services agreement to take the project design through RIBA Stages 3 to 4 and prepare the Building Safety Act Gateway 2 submission, and develop an open-book tender for main works.
Construction is expected to run from September 2026 to September 2030.
Tender applications close on 21 November 2025, with contract award due by June 2026. To register an interest click here.
